Grandpa's Famous Cheesecake was created from our love of Cheesecake. Well, not at first. Actually, I don't like cheesecake very much. I tried it countless times, as it’s Grandpa Ken's favorite, but it never clicked with me. We have tasted cheesecake from all over, and yet I still did not see the big deal. Yes, most had colorful frosting, or included cake, or maybe a sour cream layer - I wasn't impressed. 

Enter the incredible Chef Lisa. Years ago, we met the executive pastry chef as she was showing us how to make French Macarons. They were such a hit that we asked her if she would show us how to make Cheesecake that I might enjoy. Not only did she provide training to help us create scrumptious New York Style Cheesecake, she explained the importance of each ingredient including Love.

Oh My Goodness I was hooked! We mastered the deliciousness and it become our passion to share. Along the road, we were fortunate to meet the multi-talented, extraordinary Chef Betty. With her encouragement and guidance, what started with requests from family and friends has grown into Grandpa's Famous Cheesecake of North San Diego County.
